Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, have arrested a 21-year-old plumber, Adebayo Pelumi, over the alleged theft of two iron pots and a power bank in Iyesi, Ota.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday, October 18, 2026, around Abiola Gas Line, Iyesi, following efforts by operatives of the Canaan City Division to locate him over an alleged theft case reported from Arobi Eye.
According to the corps, officers received information about the suspect’s whereabouts while on routine patrol and moved to the area.
Although the suspect was initially sighted on a motorcycle and reportedly escaped their view, the operatives searched the surrounding area and recovered two iron pots allegedly stolen from caterers.
The suspect was later found hiding in the area and allegedly attempted to escape by jumping over several fences before he was apprehended.
So-Safe Corps said further investigation linked the suspect to the alleged theft of a power bank and its charger.
Other items recovered from him included two Android phones, a phone charger, an OPay ATM card, a voter’s card, two MTN SIM cards, several bunches of keys and receipts.
Pelumi, who reportedly hails from Aiyetoro, Ogun State, was taken into custody before he and the recovered items were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force at the Onipanu Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and possible prosecution.
