Lagos Police Arrest Suspected Eiye Cultist, Recover Locally Made Pistol in Mushin

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 24-year-old suspected member of the Eiye Confraternity cult group and recovered a locally made single-barrel pistol in the Mushin area of the state.

The suspect, identified as Segun Alani, was arrested by police operatives following credible information about cult-related activities at Ogunmokun Under-Bridge, Mushin.

According to the command, operatives immediately mobilised a surveillance team to the area and arrested Alani. A search of the bag in his possession reportedly led to the recovery of the locally made pistol, which was concealed inside.

The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators with useful information as the investigation continues.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their prompt response and intelligence-driven operation.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to disrupting cult activities and recovering illegal firearms across the state, warning cultists and other criminal elements to “desist from their activities or face the full wrath of the law.”
