Katsina Government Rolls Out Grants to 62,000 Small Businesses
The Katsina State Government has announced the rollout of grants to more than 62,000 small businesses as part of efforts to support entrepreneurs, create jobs and strengthen the state’s economy.
The state governor Dikko Radda said the initiative, implemented under his administration’s Building Your Future Agenda, also includes the provision of 2,000 purpose-built kiosks for vulcanisers and customised business signages across the state’s 34 local government areas.
According to the governor, the beneficiaries will receive financial support to strengthen their businesses, improve their services and create more opportunities for growth.
He said the state government had so far disbursed more than N3.5 billion in non-interest financing to over 6,000 enterprises, facilitated 5,373 jobs and supported the formalisation of more than 10,000 businesses in 2025.
The governor described small businesses as an important part of the state’s economy, noting that they create jobs, generate income, support families and provide livelihoods for residents.
He said the administration would continue to create an environment where entrepreneurs can turn their ideas into sustainable businesses and improve their livelihoods.
The governor commended the Director-General of the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA), Dr Babangida Kabir Ruma, and his team for their commitment to the programme.
He urged the beneficiaries to use the support responsibly, grow their businesses and create opportunities for others.
The governor said the initiative was an investment in the future of beneficiaries and the broader economic prosperity of Katsina State.
