World Breastfeeding Week: First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Urges Mothers to Prioritise Breastfeeding
The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has called on mothers across the country to embrace breastfeeding and healthy living as part of efforts to give children a strong and healthy start in life.
In a message marking the 2026 World Breastfeeding Week, observed from August 1 to 7, the First Lady joined the global community in celebrating this year’s theme, “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works.”
She described breastfeeding as a vital investment in the health and future of children, noting that it provides the foundation for healthy growth, proper development and lifelong well-being.
The First Lady also encouraged lactating mothers to maintain healthy lifestyles by eating nutritious foods to support their own health and ensure the healthy development of their babies.
According to the First Lady promoting breastfeeding remains essential to building stronger families and a healthier nation.
