Youth Day 2026: Tinubu Urges Nigerian Youths to Embrace Education, Innovation
First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerian youths to remain focused and hardworking, saying education, innovation, entrepreneurship and active citizenship are key to achieving their dreams and building a prosperous Nigeria.
Tinubu made the call in a message commemorating International Youth Day 2026, themed “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations.”
She said young people may come from diverse backgrounds and face different circumstances, but they share common aspirations for quality education, meaningful employment, equal opportunities and a more sustainable future.
According to her, “I encourage our youth to remain focused and hardworking. Use education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and active citizenship to pursue your dreams, fulfil your potential, and help build a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.”
The First Lady also called for renewed efforts to support and empower young Nigerians by creating opportunities that would enable them to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
She said International Youth Day provides an opportunity to recognise the importance of young people and reaffirm the commitment to creating an environment where they can thrive.
