Keke Driver Killed After Cement-Laden Trailer Crashes Into Tricycle in yenagoa
A keke driver was killed in Yenagoa on Monday after a cement-laden trailer reportedly crashed into his commercial tricycle at a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) checkpoint in Bayelsa State.
According to Niger Delta Insider, the tragic accident occurred after FRSC officials had stopped the tricycle during a routine checkpoint operation. Moments later, a trailer carrying cement allegedly rammed into the tricycle from behind, killing the driver instantly.
Eyewitnesses said the impact drew a large crowd to the scene as residents and passersby gathered while emergency responders and security officials attempted to manage the situation.
The trailer driver reportedly fled immediately after the crash. However, sources said officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) later tracked down and apprehended the suspect.
The identity of the deceased had yet to be officially released at the time of filing this report. Authorities are also expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash to determine the exact cause of the accident.
