Adeleke commissions road

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has commissioned the 3.5-kilometre Phase 1 of the Ila-Orangun Township Road Dualisation, describing the project as a major step towards improving transportation, boosting economic activities, and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

Adeleke made the statement on Thursday during the commissioning of the Phase 1 of the Ila-Orangun Township Road Dualisation in Ila-Orangun, Osun State.

The governor said the newly completed dual carriageway would serve as a vital link for commerce, improve the movement of farm produce, and provide easier access to schools, hospitals, and the palace, while attracting more investments to the ancient town.

He noted that the project is part of his administration’s broader infrastructure renewal agenda aimed at expanding road networks and promoting development across Osun State.

According to Adeleke, his administration has completed more than seven kilometres of intra-city roads in Ila-Orangun, while work will continue in phases until the entire 10-kilometre dualisation project is completed.

The governor also announced the approval of the rehabilitation of the Ikirun–Ila Road, Ila Local Government Secretariat–Oyi Ayegunle Road, Ajaba–Iresi Road, and the second phase of the Ila-Orangun Township Road Dualisation to Idi Odan.

Adeleke further assured residents that his administration would review the employment status of ad hoc and part-time staff of the College of Education, Ila-Orangun, with a view to converting eligible workers to full-time employment.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering infrastructure projects that connect communities, stimulate economic growth, improve access to essential services, and enhance the quality of life for the people of Osun State.
