Uzodimma Commissions NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre in Imo
Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has said the The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure Skills Acquisition Centre will equip young Nigerians with the skills needed to compete in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and drive economic growth.
Speaking while commissioning the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre in Owerri, the governor said technology is reshaping economies across the world, making investment in human capital a necessity for sustainable development.
Uzodimma described the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre as a strategic investment that will provide practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and innovation, adding that skills development remains the surest path to creating jobs and reducing poverty.
He noted that the project, facilitated by Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi in partnership with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), will help prepare youths for opportunities in the global digital economy.
The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for prioritising technology, innovation, and capacity building through NASENI, describing the agency’s commitment to empowering the people of Imo State as commendable.
Uzodimma urged young people across the state to enrol at the NASENI Skills Acquisition Centre, acquire relevant technical and digital skills, and position themselves for success in an increasingly competitive global economy.
He said investments in technology and skills development will play a vital role in building a knowledgeable workforce capable of driving industrial growth and economic prosperity in Nigeria.
