Federal Ministry of Education to Hold Anti-Bullying Workshop July 22

The Federal Ministry of Education will on July 22 hold a Anti-Bullying Workshop for students and teachers to promote safe, inclusive, and bully-free schools across Nigeria.

The workshop, organised in collaboration with the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), will take place at 9:00 a.m. at the 2nd Floor Podium of the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja.

According to details released by the ministry, the Federal Ministry of Education Anti-Bullying Workshop 2026 will bring together students, teachers, education stakeholders, development partners, and school administrators to deepen understanding of the National Policy on Anti-Bullying and the dangers of bullying.

The ministry said key sessions at the Workshop will focus on awareness creation, discussions on the effects of bullying, stakeholder engagement, and practical strategies for preventing and responding to bullying in schools.

Under the leadership of the Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, and the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Sa’id Ahmad, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to promoting student welfare, school safety, and quality education for all.

“The workshop aligns with the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen awareness of the National Policy on Anti-Bullying, equip students and teachers with the knowledge to recognise and address bullying, and promote a culture of respect, empathy, tolerance, and responsible citizenship across schools,” the ministry stated.

The initiative is aimed at addressing the growing incidence of bullying in schools and raising awareness about its impact on learners’ safety, emotional well-being, academic performance, and overall development.

The Federal Ministry of Education added that the workshop will support its goal of ensuring that every learner has access to a safe, secure, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
