[VIDEO] South Africa Evacuation: Final Batch of Nigerian Returnees Arrives in Lagos

South Africa Evacuation efforts reached their final stage on Wednesday as the last batch of Nigerian evacuees arrived safely at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos aboard an Air Peace flight.

According to Channels TV South Africa Evacuation flight landed at about 11:28 a.m., marking the conclusion of the Federal Government’s repatriation exercise for Nigerians who opted to return home amid rising xenophobic tensions in South Africa.

The government had earlier conducted six evacuation flights, bringing home hundreds of Nigerians following concerns over xenophobia-related incidents that prompted the voluntary evacuation programme.
