Mary Habila Death: Sowore Demands Coroner’s Inquest at Umahi’s Residence

Mary Habila Death as Omoyele Sowore calls for a coroner's inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Mary Habila Death has sparked renewed calls for an independent investigation after human rights activist and African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, demanded a coroner’s inquest into the circumstances surrounding her death at the residence of the Minister of Works, David Umahi.

In a statement, Sowore said the Mary Habila Death raised several unanswered questions and called on the relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive investigation before her burial.

He urged investigators to carry out all necessary forensic procedures, including an autopsy where required by law, to determine the exact cause of the Mary Habila Death.

Sowore also appealed to Habila’s family not to proceed with her burial until the investigations have been concluded, arguing that a transparent inquiry is necessary in the interest of justice.

According to Sowore, Mary Habila reportedly died with blood flowing from her mouth, which he said suggested that the Mary Habila Death may have been unnatural. However, the cause of death has not been officially confirmed by the relevant authorities.

The activist further referred to previous allegations involving the deaths of five NELAN engineers and called for a transparent investigation.
