PFIPC Controversy: Adeyemi Says He Borrowed N400 Million to Secure Appointment, Denies UN Claim

Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi has publicly addressed the controversy surrounding his alleged appointment linked to the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), revealing that he borrowed N400 million from different corporations in an effort to secure the position.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi disclosed that the loans have become a major financial burden, stating that some of the lenders have reported him to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which has directed him to repay the money.

According to him, the ongoing controversy has significantly affected both his reputation and finances.

The controversy surrounding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) intensified after concerns were raised over the legitimacy of appointments and activities associated with the council, prompting investigations and widespread public scrutiny.

Responding to allegations that he falsely announced an appointment connected to the United Nations, Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi described the claims as “unfortunate,” “embarrassing,” and part of a sponsored campaign aimed at damaging his reputation.

He also dismissed allegations made against him by the government, arguing that it would have been impossible for a single individual to manipulate or bypass established government procedures without the involvement of other officials.

Addressing reports that a United States-based firm is seeking asylum on his behalf, Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi denied the claim, insisting that he remains in Nigeria and has no plans to leave the country.

He further alleged that certain individuals have been encouraged to target and take down his social media accounts as the controversy continues.
