Nigeria to Host International Cybersecurity Conference 2026

Nigeria

Nigeria is set to host the International Cybersecurity Conference 2026 as the Federal Government steps up efforts to build a secure, resilient and trusted digital ecosystem.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) announced the conference as part of efforts to strengthen national and international collaboration against emerging cyber threats.

Speaking at a press briefing, NITDA Director-General, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, CCIE, said the international edition of the conference was designed to address the borderless nature of cyber threats and the growing influence of artificial intelligence.

The conference, themed “Cyber Resilience in the Age of AI: Defending Minds, Networks and Nations,” will focus on emerging AI-driven threats, including deepfakes and social engineering, as well as innovative approaches to detecting and preventing cyberattacks.

The event is being organised in partnership with the Office of the National Security Adviser and the Nigerian Communications Commission, with QNA Dubai serving as the technical partner.

According to NITDA, the conference will feature 13 keynote addresses, 16 panel discussions, cybersecurity awards and a hackathon, with nearly 2,000 participants expected to attend.

The conference will also provide a platform for Nigeria to showcase its cybersecurity initiatives, strengthen international partnerships and build local expertise.

NITDA said the event would further support the Federal Government’s efforts to safeguard citizens, institutions and critical digital infrastructure as Nigeria continues to expand its digital economy.
