NITDA Launches Digital Literacy Dashboard as Training Hits 2.7 Million
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched the National Digital Literacy Dashboard to track digital literacy programmes and strengthen coordination among organisations involved in Nigeria’s digital skills development.
The dashboard has recorded 2,769,512 reported digital literacy training achievements from 252 active reporting organisations over the past three years.
According to NITDA, the reported activities cover all 774 Local Government Areas and 14,664 communities across the country, providing a broader picture of Nigeria’s progress in expanding digital literacy.
Cisco recorded the highest number of reported training achievements with 1,073,604, followed by NITDA with 960,424 and Meta Platforms Inc. with 333,816.
Other organisations contributing to the reported figures include Imo Digital City Limited, the Sokoto State Ministry of Innovation and Digital Economy, the Bureau for ICT and Digital Economy, digital development agencies in Jigawa, Kaduna and Zamfara states, as well as the Centre for Information Technology and Development (CITAD).
NITDA said the dashboard would help identify areas with digital literacy gaps, reduce duplication of training efforts and improve the allocation of resources.
The agency said the platform would also provide data that could support better planning and coordination among government agencies, development partners, technology companies and other organisations involved in digital skills development.
