APC’s Bye-Election Victories Send Strong Signal Ahead of 2027, Keyamo Declares

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has described the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s victories in four out of five recent bye-elections as a significant development ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Keyamo, in a statement shared on social media, highlighted the APC’s victories across Kano, Bauchi, Gombe and Delta states, spanning the North-West, North-East and South-South geopolitical zones.

The minister said the party’s performance across the three regions could have important implications for the forthcoming presidential election, particularly in relation to Nigeria’s constitutional requirement for presidential candidates to secure at least 25 per cent of votes in two-thirds of the states and the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Keyamo, the constitutional provision recognises Nigeria’s diverse political and ethnic composition and ensures that presidential candidates demonstrate broad national support.

While noting that he would keep his “gunpowder dry,” the minister promised to provide a fuller analysis of the bye-election results and their possible implications for the 2027 presidential contest.

Keyamo also expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be declared winner of the presidential election, urging his followers to bookmark his post ahead of what he described as the expected announcement on January 19 or 20, 2027.

“No be cho cho cho,” he added.
