Adeola Gives 24-Hour Ultimatum Over Alleged Ekiti Origin Claims

isese day

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, has given two politicians a 24-hour ultimatum to provide evidence backing claims that he is an indigene of Ekiti State.

Adeola, who represents Ogun West in the Senate, issued the ultimatum to a suspended APC member, Hon. Abayomi Hunye, and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Ambassador Folake Marcus-Bello, following their appearances on Channel Television programmes.

In a statement issued by his media adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, the senator accused the two of making false and libelous statements about his family and state of origin without providing evidence.

Adeola said he was particularly concerned by the allegation that he is from Ekiti State, challenging the individuals to publicly establish where in the state he allegedly originated from.

He said the allegations were a revival of claims previously used as political propaganda against his bid to represent Ogun West in the National Assembly.

The senator warned that failure to provide evidence within 24 hours would lead to legal action over what he described as defamatory statements made on national television and subsequently circulated across other media platforms.

Adeola maintained that the renewed controversy was politically motivated, alleging that it was linked to his ambition to contest the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
