NITDA Trains Enugu Students in AI, Robotics, Drone Technology
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in collaboration with the Enugu MSME and Startup Agency, has concluded a technology bootcamp aimed at equipping primary and secondary school students in Enugu State with practical digital and emerging technology skills.
The Enugu Kids Coding and Emerging Technology Bootcamp exposed participants to a range of technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics and Automation, Drone Technology, Autonomous Systems and 3D Design.
The initiative is part of efforts to nurture a new generation of digitally skilled Nigerians and strengthen the country’s digital talent pipeline from an early age.
Speaking at the programme, the South-East Zonal Director of NITDA, who was represented by Mr. Ikechukwu Eze, encouraged the students to build on the knowledge acquired during the bootcamp and apply technology to solving real-world problems.
He urged the participants to look beyond the classroom, embrace innovation and continue developing their digital skills, stressing that they could become future technology leaders who would contribute significantly to Nigeria’s digital economy.
The bootcamp adopted a hands-on approach, allowing the students to gain practical exposure to emerging technologies rather than relying solely on theoretical instruction.
At the conclusion of the programme, certificates were presented to all participants. Outstanding students were also rewarded with laptops and tablets in recognition of their exceptional performance during the training.
The organisers said initiatives of this nature are important in preparing young Nigerians for an increasingly technology-driven economy.
