Anthony Kila Urges United Opposition Ahead of 2027 Elections.

Political analyst and Jean Monnet Professor, Anthony Kila, has called on Nigeria’s opposition parties to unite ahead of the 2027 general elections, arguing that a divided opposition would struggle to mount an effective challenge against the ruling party.

Speaking during a Channels Television programme, Kila said opposition parties must move beyond individual ambitions and build a common platform capable of presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative.

According to him, unity among opposition leaders is essential if they hope to compete effectively in the next presidential election.

He stressed that successful political contests are often built on strong alliances, strategic planning and a shared vision rather than fragmented campaigns. Kila noted that cooperation among opposition parties would strengthen democratic competition and offer voters wider political choices.

The political analyst also urged opposition figures to prioritise national interest over personal or party rivalries, adding that a united front could reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 polls.
