Osun People Will Decide August 15 Election, Adeleke Declares

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has expressed confidence that the people of the state will freely choose their next governor in the August 15 governorship election, insisting that no one can subvert the will of the electorate.
The governor made the declaration on Monday during campaign stops in Oke-Ila and Ora communities in Ifedayo Local Government Area, where he was received by supporters, traditional chiefs and royal fathers.
Speaking at the palaces of the Olora of Ora-Igbomina, Oba Rilwan Olawale Aremu Yekini, and the Ajagunla Ifagbamila Orangun of Oke-Ila, Oba Adedokun Abolarin, Adeleke said the massive support his administration has received across the state reflects public approval of his government’s performance.
“I have absolute confidence that the votes of our people will count on August 15. No one can steal the mandate of the people of Osun because our democracy is stronger than the desperation of a few politicians,” the governor said.
Adeleke urged eligible voters to participate peacefully in the election, reject vote-buying, protect their votes and remain vigilant throughout the electoral process.
He also called on residents not to be intimidated by threats or fear, assuring them that the will of the people would prevail.
According to the governor, his administration has earned the trust of Osun residents through responsible governance and visible development, pledging to consolidate on existing achievements if re-elected.
“Osun votes are sacred. Osun votes are untouchable. And by the grace of God, the voice of the people will prevail,” Adeleke added.
