Tinubu Seeks Stronger Nigeria-Brazil Cooperation in Science, Technology

Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has called for deeper cooperation between Nigeria and Brazil in science and technology following the re-election of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Tinubu, in a congratulatory message on Monday, said Lula’s renewed mandate presents an opportunity for both countries to strengthen their longstanding relationship and expand collaboration in key sectors.

The Nigerian President specifically identified science and technology among the areas where both countries could deepen cooperation, alongside trade and investment, agriculture, energy, manufacturing, education, aviation and cultural exchange.

Tinubu described Nigeria and Brazil as two leading nations of the Global South, saying stronger cooperation between both countries could help advance their shared interests in a rapidly changing global order.

He said greater collaboration in science and technology could create opportunities for knowledge exchange, innovation and technological development while strengthening economic ties between Africa and South America.

The President also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to working with Brazil on multilateral issues and shared priorities across the Global South.

Tinubu congratulated Lula on securing what he described as a record fourth term and expressed his expectation that the renewed mandate would further strengthen the historical ties between the two countries.
