A lawyer identified simply as “Yakubu” has reportedly sparked a heated exchange at the Federal High Court in Abuja after allegedly referring to African Action Congress presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, as a “tout.”

The remark reportedly angered Sowore’s supporters, who reacted angrily ahead of the commencement of proceedings in the activist’s ongoing case.

The incident led to a shouting match among those present at the court, with the situation reportedly becoming tense as supporters confronted the lawyer.

Sowore is currently facing trial over allegations relating to a social media post in which he allegedly described President Bola Tinubu as a “criminal.”

The proceedings were before Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The confrontation reportedly continued amid threats from some of Sowore’s supporters, who vowed to retaliate against the lawyer after the court session.
