Air Peace Apologises Over Flight Disruptions, Says Safety Remains Top Priority

Air peace

Air Peace has apologised to passengers affected by recent flight delays and cancellations across some of its operations, attributing the disruptions to a combination of unforeseen operational and safety-related challenges.
The airline, in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, and signed by its Chief Operating Officer, Oluwatoyin Olajide, said the disruptions were caused by several factors, including an inadvertent false fire alarm that grounded one of its aircraft.
It also cited adverse weather conditions that led to flight diversions, delays and cancellations, a bird strike that grounded another aircraft for several days, technical issues requiring mandatory checks and maintenance, as well as delays in the availability of aviation fuel in some instances.
Air Peace acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the disruptions, saying it understood the frustration experienced by passengers whose travel plans were affected.
“While some of these circumstances were beyond our immediate control, we acknowledge the impact they have had on our passengers,” the airline said.
The carrier assured passengers that it was focused on managing the challenges responsibly, minimising disruptions and ensuring that customers were not left to bear the consequences of operational difficulties.
Air Peace also stressed that it would not compromise safety in an attempt to maintain flight schedules.
“Safety remains our highest priority. We will NEVER compromise the safety of our passengers, crew and aircraft,” the airline stated.
According to the airline, no aircraft would be released for service until its technical teams and relevant safety procedures had confirmed that it was safe to fly.
It explained that where weather conditions, technical faults, bird strikes or other safety-related circumstances required an aircraft to remain grounded, such decisions would take precedence over operational convenience.
The airline said it was taking immediate measures to stabilise its operations, strengthen contingency plans and improve communication and responsiveness whenever unforeseen challenges occur.
Air Peace reaffirmed its commitment to providing safe and dependable air travel while working to improve the overall experience of its passengers.
The airline expressed appreciation to affected passengers for their patience and understanding, while apologising to those who had been delayed, forced to rearrange important plans or otherwise inconvenienced by the recent disruptions.
“We remain committed to giving you the quality, reliability and service experience you deserve,” the airline said.
