Radda Reaffirms Commitment to Women, Youth Empowerment in Katsina
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering women and young people through entrepreneurship, skills acquisition and access to sustainable economic opportunities.
Radda stated this while speaking at the 4th CEOs Round Table Summit and Exhibition, organised by the Initiative of Innovative Youthpreneurs Sustainable Development in Katsina.
The governor said women remain central to the growth of the state’s economy, noting their increasing contributions to entrepreneurship, commerce, agriculture and household livelihoods across Katsina.
He stressed that empowering women and young people goes beyond supporting individuals and families, describing it as an investment in the economic future of the state.
According to him, his administration is focused on providing entrepreneurs with three critical components needed to build successful and sustainable businesses: capacity, market and finance.
Radda explained that access to funding alone would not guarantee entrepreneurial success, stressing the need for entrepreneurs to acquire the necessary skills to manage their businesses effectively and gain access to viable markets.
The governor said the state government was also investing in skills acquisition, vocational training, agriculture and enterprise development to enable young people to transform their ideas and skills into productive livelihoods.
He noted that creating economic opportunities for youths and women would help reduce idleness while contributing to improved security and social stability across the state.
Radda encouraged entrepreneurs in Katsina to embrace technology, mentorship and innovation, while also modernising traditional trades and creating stronger markets for locally made products.
He commended the organisers of the CEOs Round Table Summit for creating a platform that connects entrepreneurs with business leaders, mentors and potential opportunities.
The governor assured residents that his administration would continue to support initiatives aimed at building an economy where women and young people are not only job seekers but also job creators and drivers of sustainable economic growth.
