Matawalle Accepts Appointment as Deputy Director of Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign Council
Minister of Defence and former Zamfara State Governor, Dr Bello Matawalle, has accepted his appointment as Deputy Director, Security and Intelligence I, of the 2027 All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council.
Matawalle, in a statement expressing appreciation for the confidence placed in him, described the appointment as a call to greater service, responsibility and sacrifice.
He said he was honoured to be given the opportunity to serve again in a national assignment, recalling his role as Zonal Coordinator for the North-West during the APC Presidential Campaign Council’s 2023 campaign.
Matawalle said his previous experience working across the six states of the North-West had prepared him for the responsibilities of his new assignment.
“As I return to the Security and Intelligence Standing Committee, I will redouble my efforts, deepen my commitment and bring greater energy, experience and strategic thinking to the task ahead,” he said.
The Defence Minister also said his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration had continued since the 2023 election.
He disclosed that he founded the Tinubu Again Movement, a nationwide group established to communicate the achievements, policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration across Nigeria.
Matawalle also expressed appreciation to the leadership of the APC for entrusting him with the new responsibility.
“As a Party-Man, I am equally grateful to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for the confidence placed in me and for the opportunity to serve as part of the team entrusted with this important national assignment,” he said.
He pledged to work closely with the Director-General and other members of the campaign council, promising to bring professionalism and dedication to the assignment.
“I will give this assignment my very best and remain focused on the collective objective of securing victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the All Progressives Congress in 2027,” Matawalle stated.
The former Zamfara governor said he had fully accepted the appointment and would work to justify the confidence reposed in him.
“I am ready for the task. I accept the appointment fully and will redouble my efforts to ensure that the confidence reposed in me is justified by results,” he added.
