The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced an immediate investigation into a viral video showing an interaction between Aviation Security (AVSEC) personnel and a passenger at Osubi Airport.
In a statement signed by Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN said it had taken note of the video circulating on social media regarding the incident and that the Managing Director/Chief Executive had directed an immediate investigation to establish all the facts and circumstances surrounding the matter.
The authority said it remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, safety, security and customer service across all airports under its management. It added that the outcome of the investigation would determine any further action considered necessary.
FAAN noted that should the investigation establish any breach of its operational procedures or professional standards, appropriate administrative and disciplinary measures would be taken in accordance with the authority’s regulations.
The agency also appreciated the public’s interest and assured airport users that every complaint is treated with the seriousness it deserves. It reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement in delivering safe, secure and passenger-focused airport services.
