Enugu Air Demands Removal of Aircraft Image Linked to Congo Crash Report

Enugu air

Enugu Air has demanded the immediate removal and correction of an aircraft image used by Instablog9ja in a report about an aircraft accident in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The airline made the demand in a letter addressed to the Instablog9ja team, stating that the image published alongside the report on September 25, 2026, was an Enugu Air aircraft and was not connected to the aircraft involved in the reported accident.

According to the airline’s Brand and Communications Management, using the Enugu Air aircraft image alongside the report created a false association between the airline and the accident.

The airline said the publication could cause reputational and commercial harm to Enugu Air.

It consequently demanded that Instablog9ja immediately remove the Enugu Air aircraft image from the publication and correct the report to clearly state that the aircraft pictured was not involved in the incident.

Enugu Air also requested that a clear correction be published on the same platform with comparable visibility and that the platform confirm when the correction and image removal had been completed.

“We expect this matter to be treated with urgency given the significant reach of the publication,” the airline said.

The airline further stated that it was preserving the publication and associated evidence while reserving its rights and legal remedies in respect of any reputational or commercial damage arising from the publication.

Enugu Air said it preferred to resolve the matter promptly and professionally without further escalation.
