ADC Raises Alarm Over Political Violence Ahead of 2027

ADC

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has raised concerns over what it described as a growing pattern of political violence, voter intimidation and attacks on opposition members ahead of the 2027 general elections.
ADC spokesperson, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed this while addressing a press conference, saying members of the party had come under attack in different parts of the country.
Abdullahi specifically cited the killing of an ADC member, Kamadioye, in Rivers State, as one of the incidents that had heightened concerns within the party.
He said the attacks were part of a disturbing pattern in which violence was being used to undermine political competition and intimidate opposition members.
According to him, the ADC had called on the police to investigate the reported attacks, provide updates on pending cases and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice, irrespective of their political connections.
Abdullahi said the party would continue to document every reported incident and pursue all available lawful remedies to protect its members and uphold their rights.
He also warned individuals who use public office to violate the rights of Nigerians, stressing that political positions are temporary and that those responsible for wrongdoing would eventually be held accountable.
