Katsina Receives Innovation Tech Hub to Empower Young People
Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umar Radda, has announced the formal handover of the Adolescent and Young People Innovation Tech Hub in Katsina to the state government.
Radda disclosed this in a statement following the handover of the facility by the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN).
The governor described the facility as more than just a physical infrastructure, saying it represents an investment in the talents, dreams and future of young people in the state.
According to him, the 12-room state-of-the-art hub will provide opportunities for adolescents and young people in information and communication technology, web design, content creation, beauty technology, entrepreneurship, mentorship and vocational skills.
He added that the facility would also support the health and psychosocial wellbeing of adolescents and young people.
Radda said the initiative aligns with his administration’s Building Your Future Agenda, particularly its focus on human capital development, youth empowerment and creating economic opportunities for young people.
The governor noted that more than 1,200 young people had already benefited from apprenticeship and skills development programmes at the Katsina Youth Craft Village.
He assured development partners and young people in the state that the government would take ownership of the hub, sustain the initiative and expand its impact.
Radda appreciated the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (US CDC) and IHVN for their financial, technical and institutional support towards the establishment of the facility.
He said the handover marked the beginning of a new phase of shared responsibility and sustainable impact between the state government and its development partners.
