The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), in partnership with the Centre for Information and Telecommunication Engineering (CITE), University of Port Harcourt, has concluded the CITE-NITDA Tech Stars 2026 programme in Port Harcourt.

The one-month intensive Information and Communication Technology training, which also ended in Kwara, Jigawa, Gombe and Kano states last week, was designed to equip primary, junior and senior secondary school students with foundational skills in Artificial Intelligence, robotics, coding, data science and other digital competencies.

The programme, implemented across the five locations, is part of NITDA’s efforts to promote digital literacy and nurture young technology talents by exposing students to emerging technologies and practical problem-solving skills from an early age.

At the closing ceremony in Port Harcourt, participants received certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the programme.

Outstanding participants in various categories were also rewarded with special prizes, including laptop computers and tablets.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, Prof. Chike Princewill Chike, congratulated the participants on their achievement and urged them to apply the knowledge acquired during the training to develop practical solutions to real-world socio-economic challenges.

He encouraged the graduands to continue learning, explore emerging technologies and use their creativity to contribute to Nigeria’s digital transformation and development.
