2027: Dino Melaye Tells Tinubu, Family to Prepare for Aso Rock Exit
Former Kogi West Senator and chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dino Melaye, has urged President Bola Tinubu and members of his family to prepare to leave the Presidential Villa ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Melaye made the statement during an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time programme on Monday.
He expressed confidence that the ADC would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 elections, claiming that Nigerians were dissatisfied with the Tinubu administration.
According to him, issues including hardship, insecurity, alleged corruption and what he described as poor governance had created a disconnect between the government and citizens.
Melaye also criticised the administration’s budget implementation, alleging that some contracts awarded in 2024 remained unpaid despite government borrowing to finance its budgets.
He further criticised President Tinubu over comments he attributed to the President regarding political competition, arguing that such statements were inappropriate for a sitting President.
Melaye said the outcome of the 2027 election would bring a change of government and called on Tinubu and his family to begin preparing to leave the Presidential Villa.
