Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the state into a technology- and innovation-driven economy.
Soludo stated this while reflecting on his engagements with leading institutions shaping the innovation, enterprise, healthcare and investment ecosystem in Brampton and Toronto, Canada.
The governor said his visit to the Brampton Innovation District, alongside meetings with institutions including Altitude Accelerator, Brampton Venture Zone, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, BHive, the Brampton Board of Trade and the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine, provided valuable lessons on building successful innovation ecosystems.
According to him, innovation thrives when government, talent, infrastructure and private enterprise work together deliberately.
Soludo said the lessons would be important to Anambra’s development agenda, stressing that the state’s vision goes beyond infrastructure development to creating an ecosystem where talent can thrive, ideas can grow into enterprises and technology can improve public services.
He further said the engagements had strengthened his administration’s resolve to develop the Solution Innovation District (SID) and the broader innovation ecosystem around it.
“We will continue to learn from global best practices, adapt them to our context, and build an Anambra where innovation, enterprise, and human capital drive inclusive prosperity,” he said.
Soludo reaffirmed that the state would remain intentional about equipping young people with the skills and opportunities required to compete globally.
“Our mission is clear; build here, innovate here, create here, and compete globally,” the governor stated.
He expressed optimism that the emerging innovation ecosystem would contribute significantly to Anambra’s economic transformation and prosperity.
