Atiku Congratulates AUN President Frazier on Five-Year Appointment Renewal

The African Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has congratulated the President of the American University of Nigeria, Professor DeWayne Preston Frazier, on the renewal of his appointment for another five-year term.

Atiku, who is also the founder of the American University of Nigeria, described Frazier’s reappointment as a strong affirmation of confidence in his leadership, vision and stewardship of the institution.

He said AUN had witnessed significant transformation under Frazier’s leadership, including increased student enrolment, improved student retention and the introduction of new undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

The ADC presidential candidate also commended the implementation of the Governing Council-approved Strategic Vision Plan, “Our University, Our Time, Our Future,” which he said had placed the institution on a stronger path towards sustainability.

According to Atiku, the strategic plan focuses on strengthening the university’s financial base, promoting academic entrepreneurship and innovation, investing in human resources, deepening community engagement and enhancing the institution’s brand.

He also noted that the plan had expanded opportunities for student engagement and development, describing the progress as significant for the university’s institutional growth.

Atiku said the achievements recorded under Frazier’s leadership were a result of the collective efforts of the management team, faculty, staff, students, alumni and the wider AUN community.

The ADC candidate reaffirmed his confidence in Frazier and his management team as they begin another five-year tenure, assuring them of his continued support as well as that of the university’s Board and community.

He congratulated Frazier on what he described as a well-deserved renewal, adding that the work ahead would further strengthen the future of the American University of Nigeria
