The Lagos State Police Command has arrested four suspected members of a criminal gang allegedly linked to recent killings, armed robbery and cult-related activities in the Ajah axis of the state.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday, saying the suspects were arrested during sustained follow-up operations connected to a robbery case.

The suspects were identified as Kareem Abiodun, 26; Tansiru Emmanuel, 29; Lateef Usman, 28; and Alashe Azeez, 32.

According to the command, preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were linked to recent robbery activities around Ajah, Sangotedo and Ibeju-Lekki.

The police said three locally made pistols, one live ammunition, two battle axes and a Point of Sale machine were recovered from the suspects.

The command added that the suspects made confessional statements regarding their alleged involvement in armed robbery, murder and cultism.

The suspects are currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations, while efforts are being made to apprehend other members of the gang and recover additional exhibits.

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the operatives for their diligence and sustained follow-up efforts.

He directed the officers to intensify intelligence-led operations to apprehend other members of the gang, warning cultists, armed robbers and other violent criminals that the command would continue to track them down and bring them to justice.

The police also urged residents to report suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines for prompt response.
