LAWMA Clears Mushin, Agege Motor Road Corridors, Warns Against Illegal Dumping

The Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has completed cleanup operations across several locations in Mushin and its adjoining areas, restoring the affected corridors to a cleaner and more stable condition.

The cleanup exercise covered Mushin-Atewolara, Agege Motor Road, Ojuwoye Ifelodun Junction, Ojuwoye Junction, Ladipo Bus Stop, and locations opposite Lawrence Adetimehin House after Ladioo Junction.

LAWMA said the affected areas have now been cleaned and stabilised following the completion of the operations.

The agency disclosed that it would work with state enforcement agencies and the relevant local government to maintain regular surveillance across the cleaned locations to prevent the re-emergence of illegal dumps.

It added that strategic waste collection would also be maintained within the affected corridors to ensure proper disposal and sustained environmental cleanliness.

LAWMA urged residents, traders and road users within the areas to take responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of their surroundings and desist from indiscriminate waste disposal.

The agency warned that illegal dumping would not be tolerated, stressing that anyone caught disposing of refuse indiscriminately would face the full weight of the law.

LAWMA further called on members of the public to support the government’s efforts by using designated waste disposal channels and helping to keep Lagos clean.
