The Lagos State Rapid Response Squad (RRS) has carried out a midnight enforcement operation along the Lekki–Ajah Expressway to apprehend miscreants and hoodlums allegedly terrorising motorists and other road users.

The operation was disclosed by the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who said the enforcement was targeted at individuals whose activities have continued to constitute a nuisance and threat to public safety along the busy expressway.

According to Wahab, some of the suspects allegedly harass and intimidate motorists, demand money from them and, in certain instances, damage vehicles when motorists refuse to comply with their demands.

The Commissioner said the latest operation forms part of efforts by the state government and security agencies to maintain law and order and protect motorists across Lagos.

He added that the RRS would continue to sustain intelligence-led operations and enforcement actions against criminal elements whose activities threaten public safety and disrupt the free movement of people and vehicles.

Wahab urged residents and road users to remain vigilant and support government efforts aimed at ensuring a safer and more orderly environment across the state.
