[Video] “I Dare Anybody to Touch My Billboard” – Doris Ogala Blasts Abia Govt N150m Campaign Fee

The governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2027 Abia State governorship election, Doris Ogala, has declared that no one should attempt to remove her campaign billboards despite the state’s newly introduced campaign advertisement fees.

Reacting to the Abia State Government’s decision to impose a N150 million campaign advertising permit fee on governorship candidates, Ogala insisted she would not be intimidated.

“I should pay N150 million? I dare anybody to try to touch my billboard,” she said.

The AAC candidate questioned the rationale behind the fee, arguing that it comes at a time when many residents are battling economic hardship and workers are yet to receive their salaries.

“People are dying in the hospital, workers are crying, their salaries have not been paid, and you are imposing N150 million on a governorship candidate. Where will I get the money from? Do I have a godfather who has stolen government funds?” Ogala stated.

She maintained that the government should focus on addressing the welfare of citizens rather than placing what she described as an enormous financial burden on candidates seeking elective office.

The Abia State Government recently announced a new schedule of campaign advertising permit fees for political parties and candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Under the policy, presidential candidates are expected to pay N200 million for campaign billboard and poster permits, while governorship candidates will pay N150 million. Senatorial candidates will pay N100 million, House of Representatives candidates N50 million, and House of Assembly candidates N20 million.
