Former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has reportedly died, months after his family dismissed earlier reports that the former governor had passed away.

Uduaghan’s death was confirmed on Monday by sources close to his family, according to reports. Details surrounding his death were still unclear at the time of filing.

The latest development comes nearly four months after reports of his death circulated on social media, forcing his family and the Delta State Government to publicly dismiss the claims.

In June, Uduaghan’s media aide, Henry Unini, had confirmed that the former governor was alive and receiving medical attention, while urging members of the public to disregard the reports.

The Delta State Government also contacted members of Uduaghan’s family at the time and confirmed that he was alive.

Uduaghan, a medical doctor, served as Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015. Before becoming governor, he served as the state’s Commissioner for Health and later as Secretary to the State Government.
