Tinubu: Tailor Shouldn’t Need Millions to Grow Business.

Tinubu

A tailor should not need millions of naira to purchase industrial machinery before being able to grow her business, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said.

Tinubu said the Federal Government was investing in shared Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) hubs to give entrepreneurs access to modern equipment, reliable power and production facilities without requiring them to bear the full cost alone.

The President said the initiative was part of the Renewed Hope administration’s efforts to remove barriers limiting the growth of small businesses across the country.

He explained that a food processor, for instance, should not have to build a factory before being able to increase production and operate at scale.

According to Tinubu, 21 shared facilities across 19 states and the Federal Capital Territory are currently supporting businesses and an estimated 650,000 jobs through the government’s National MSME Clinics.

He said Nigerians have the ideas, skills and ambition needed to build successful businesses but are often constrained by inadequate access to the tools and infrastructure required to turn those ideas into sustainable enterprises.

“Our job is to remove those barriers,” the President said.

Tinubu added that when small businesses gain access to appropriate equipment and facilities, they can increase production, reduce costs and become more competitive.

He said the growth of such businesses would also enable them to employ more people and create income and opportunities for Nigerian families.

The President said providing Nigerian businesses with the tools required to succeed was essential to building prosperity from the grassroots.

“Giving Nigerian enterprise the tools to succeed is how we build prosperity from the ground up,” he said.
