NASENI Trains, Empowers 220 Benue Residents With Solar, Electrical Skills

Naseni

The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has trained and empowered 220 residents of Wannune in Benue State under its Sustainable Empowerment Programme (NSEP).

The beneficiaries received practical training in solar installation, electrical maintenance and home essentials as part of efforts to equip residents with skills capable of creating employment opportunities and supporting entrepreneurship.

The programme is designed to strengthen the capacity of beneficiaries to develop sustainable sources of income while promoting the practical application of science, technology and engineering solutions in homes, businesses and communities.

According to NASENI, the initiative reflects its commitment to taking technological innovations and engineering solutions beyond laboratories and into communities where they can directly improve livelihoods.

The agency said the programme is also being implemented in line with its 3Cs principles, which focus on building the productive capacity of Nigerians and creating opportunities for sustainable economic participation.

Through the training, the 220 beneficiaries are expected to apply the acquired skills in solar installation, electrical services and other areas, potentially creating jobs for themselves and providing services within their communities.

NASENI said it would continue to invest in programmes that promote skills development, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods across Nigeria.
