NBTI Conducts 2026 Promotion Exam for 411 Staff Across Nigeria
The National Board for Technology Incubation has conducted its 2026 Computer-Based Promotion Examination for 411 staff members across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.
The exercise, held under the leadership of the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of NBTI, Dr Kazeem Kolawole Raji, is aimed at promoting transparency, efficiency and credibility in the organisation’s staff promotion process.
The examination comprised 407 senior staff seeking advancement to their next levels and four junior staff participating in the lower cadre category.
The Computer-Based Promotion Examination was introduced at NBTI in 2025 shortly after Raji assumed office, following concerns previously raised over the conduct of promotion examinations.
Speaking on the 2026 exercise, Raji described the computer-based system as an important tool for reducing human errors and strengthening transparency in the promotion process.
He noted that the immediate release of examination results after candidates completed and submitted their answers demonstrated the efficiency of a technology-driven system.
Raji said NBTI, as an agency responsible for technology incubation and innovation, must also demonstrate the practical application of technology through its internal operations.
He added that the promotion exercise formed part of the Board’s broader efforts to promote professionalism, fairness, efficiency and staff development.
The agency said it would continue to leverage technology to improve its institutional processes and strengthen its commitment to staff development.
