Adeleke Coasts to Victory as Osun Election Collation Continues
The ongoing collation of results from the Osun State governorship election has placed incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party in the lead, as the final outcome is yet to be declared.
So far, a total of 535,127 votes have been recorded, with 10,122 rejected votes, while the remaining votes were declared valid. The state has 1,185,442 registered voters.
Adeleke is currently leading with 177,572 votes against his closest challengers from the APC and ADC, based on the results announced so far.
Although the election was largely peaceful in several parts of the state, reports of gunshots, disturbances and pockets of violence were recorded in some areas despite efforts by security agencies to maintain order.
The collation of results is still ongoing, and the final winner will be determined after all results have been officially collated and declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
